Flex the Funk was born from a moment of disbelief and inspiration at a kid’s birthday party.

I was chatting with my buddy’s wife about how Gen Z has resurrected 90s fashion… but somehow left out the good parts. Think washed-out dad jeans, tragic mullets, and fits so boxy they could ship cargo. We laughed, we cringed, and we agreed: “Just... no.”

Later that night, two teens walked past us outside the restaurant — boxy dad jeans, bowl cuts, the works. It was like 1995 had dropped a mixtape on the sidewalk.

And that’s when it hit me:
What if we brought the soul of the 90s back — but left the weird denim and awkward silhouettes behind?
